And start planning for the next! Thank goodness.
Looking back I kind of just have to shake my head. This season was some kind of crazy. For instance, I think I'm still finding mud on my body from DS&G. That was the first race I've ever done where my bike got so heavy that I couldn't move it or lift it! Not to mention getting lost for over an hour at Mohican, or having to race with an axed knee at Lumberjack, or altitude sickness at Breckenridge, or a fractured clavicle at Peak to Peak and Iceman. And let's not forget the fattest hand in the universe!
Good grief. I'm ready to move on :-)
In all honesty though, I wouldn't trade this year for anything. Broken clavicle, getting lost, altitude sickness....that's nothing in the whole scheme of things. I learned more this year then any of my previous racing years combined. I learned that I can handle an awful lot and not quit. And I was reminded of how lucky I am to be able to race and ride my bike on awesome trails with a lot of great people. I'm already getting excited about next year!!!
Now it's time to start training again. I had 2 weeks off, and realized that I do much better with structure. This week is all about intervals, turkey, intervals, stuffing, and then a little cross racing in Holland on Sunday. I hope to see you there!
PS. So far we've been lucking out with the weather in Michigan. But that might change soon as they are predicting snow towards the end of this week. I'm already making a list of friends that I want to visit this winter and surprisingly enough they all live in warm weather states :-)

Danielle, you rocked it at Mohican! it was totally inspiring to see you hammering back from the back of the pack, especially since I was being such a baby out there over my endless mechanicals.
I'm totally psyched for next season too-- and let me know when you come ride down south this winter!
Thanks Emily! I'm thinking that it's going to be around March 7th-ish. But I will let you know more details once I nail everything down!
Visit me! Visit me!! Do you consider Colorado a warm weather state?
Sorry Breck made your list :^( At least we got lost on the course together? Right?
Let me know how tomorrow goes! Go greyhounds! Nomoto wants you to come visit him.
Juli- Of course I want to come back and visit!!! I wish I could have stayed longer. There's still so many places that I want to ride in Colorado.
PS. Do you remember that horrible walk-up that we did when we got lost at Breck??? Now when I think about it I just laugh :-)
I am probably moving back to sunny So Cal....so let me know if you head this way!
See you in Holland on Sunday. Keep your fingers crossed its just a little less messy than last year!
You and Scott have a great Thanksgiving.
