Right now I'm about to get out and do a easy level 2 ride before it starts to rain. Then tonight...Star Trek! I'm perfectly content with the fact that my rides are going to be short and easy this weekend. It feels good to not have to worry about race logistics or traveling! I think I might even go crazy and unpack my bags from Tennessee. Usually I don't unpack until I'm getting ready for another race.
I leave you with a post by Jason about the metabolic testing Toni got last week. It was by far the best testing experience I ever experienced. Mainly because we got to drink coffee and relax while poor Toni was suffering. I wish I had it on video because Toni has an awesome cadence. She basically never faltered until her legs completely gave out. I've tried to match it when we ride together and it's insane how fast her legs can pump up and down...

send me a picture, I'll tell you what you have. I get everything. Poison ivy and poison oak both blister in patches, ivy seems to spread much more than oak and usually leaves a drag pattern, use extreme tecnu to remove oils and to help a little with itching. But it sounds like you may have chiggers, they appear more as individual blisters, although you may have a bunch side-by-side. A topical steroid works well (but don't use it on your face or your skin will thin and you may break out later) my favorite is Mometasone Furoate cream 0.1%. You get chiggers from muddy races or grassy areas in the south.
Good seeing you again today. I will plan to be at SGA; thanks for the reminder!
Get better soon!
Thanks Krista-
I definitely have poison ivy. In fact, I think most of the racers who did DS&G have it. Initially it was spotty because the oils couldn't get through the mud, but now it's full blown patches with blistering. In fact, it was starting to blister a bit when I was at the doctor's but the Physicians Assistant was too busy listening to himself speak.
Brian- See you tonight!
